How we build

Small team, long attention span.

We keep the apps few and the updates frequent. Ten years of reviews taught us three rules that we do not break.

Audio comes first

Fluency comes from hours of listening, so every player is tuned for it: gapless playback, 0.5× to 2× speed, background play and transcripts that scroll with the voice.

Free means free

Lessons, books and tests are never locked. We fund the work with light, non-intrusive ads and an optional one-time upgrade to remove them.

Works on the phone you have

Most of our learners are on mid-range Android devices with limited data. Small install sizes, offline packs and low battery use are features, not afterthoughts.

Our story

Started as one grammar app in Hanoi. Still shipping.

Yobimi began in 2015 with a simple grammar quiz built for friends preparing for university entrance exams. The reviews asked for listening practice, so we wrapped VOA Learning English in a player. Then came LibriVox audiobooks and a Gutenberg reader.

A decade on, the studio is still a small group of engineers and English teachers in Vietnam. We answer support mail ourselves, read every review, and ship most of what learners ask for.
